Shanghai Aerospace Equipment Manufacturing Factory Co., Ltd., affiliated to the 8th Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, is a state-owned comprehensive key aerospace enterprise in China, integrating the manufacturing, final assembly and testing of launch vehicles, space vehicles, and tactical weapon ground system products, as well as launch site services. The predecessor of the enterprise is Xinmin Machine Factory, which was founded in 1921 by Mr. Hu Juewen, a famous patriotic national industrialist and entrepreneur and the former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
