Guzhong Ancient Animal Fossils Museum in Hezheng County, Gansu

Hezheng Museum of Ancient Animal Fossils is a national second-class museum. It was established in 2003 and is located in Liangjiazhuang New Village, Chengguan Town, Hezheng County. The museum consists of two parts, namely the first-phase building and the second-phase building. It covers an area of 65 mu and has a building area of 8,000 square meters. There are more than 30,000 pieces of various ancient animal fossils in the museum’s collection, belonging to three classes, eight orders, and 150 genera and species. Among them, there are more than 50 first-class items, more than 180 second-class items, and more than 350 third-class items.
